CBRT Deputy Governor Akçay: Rate Cut Cycle Not Under Consideration

Turkey’s Central Bank Deputy Governor Cevdet Akçay stated in a Reuters interview that a rate cut cycle is not currently being considered. He emphasized that even when cuts begin, there will be no doubt about maintaining a tight stance. Akçay noted that the prerequisite for considering a monetary easing cycle is a significant and persistent decline in the underlying trend of monthly inflation.
